MoleMap · Australia and New Zealand

Map Your Future

Agency: Bread Agency

In an opinion piece for B&T written by MoleMap ANZ's own chief marketing officer, Duncan Armour, the skin-checking provider describes how a social campaign called 'Map Your Future' grew into a full brand platform across Australia and New Zealand. Instead of fear-based messaging about skin cancer risk, the campaign reframes skin checks around people's future plans, such as travel, fitness and family milestones ('selling the future, not the check'). The first phase ran from July to September 2026 across on-demand TV, radio, billboards, bus stops, retail screens and social; a second phase launched on 1 November 2026 ahead of the summer peak.

Reported results
  • Armour writes that the campaign was seen or heard more than 34 million times, and that MoleMap had its best July-to-September quarter on record with more than 25,639 skin check bookings, up 20% year on year; he models that around 2,000 of those bookings, about 2.8 times media spend, are attributable to the campaign specifically above always-on activity (all figures and the modelled attribution are self-reported by MoleMap's own CMO (chief marketing officer) in an op-ed, not independently audited) [B&T]
  • He also reports that 64 social posts drew 1.3 million video views and almost 10,000 engagements, one story reached 200,000 organic Instagram views, and talk radio in Sydney and Melbourne drove about 10.5 website visits per ad compared with 1.6 in Adelaide (again self-reported by the brand) [B&T]

Channels: On-demand TV, Radio, Billboards, Bus stops, Retail screens, Social

Our take

Every number here comes from the brand's own CMO writing about his own campaign, including a modelled estimate of how many bookings the campaign itself caused above background demand. That's a genuinely useful way to try to separate a campaign's effect from always-on activity, but it's still the company grading its own work, not an independent measurement.

Wellington City Mission · New Zealand

Move On To Where?

Agency: EightyOne

Ahead of New Zealand's 7 November general election, Wellington City Mission and agency EightyOne projected the question 'Move On To Where?' onto Parliament (the Beehive), challenging legislation passed under urgency the previous month that lets Police issue move-on orders to people sleeping rough, which the Mission says fails to separate behaviour from circumstances. The projection was paired with a video message from Wellington City Missioner Rev Murray Edridge calling on the Government to find real solutions rather than moving the problem out of sight. The campaign asks all political parties to publicly state their position and commit to removing rough sleeping from the legislation's provisions, and encourages New Zealanders to raise it with local MPs and candidates.

Creators

Why creators are taking over

Brands are moving money from ads to people with their own audiences. Here's what the reporting says, and the campaigns in our library built around creators.

US$37b

Projected US creator ad spend in 2025, up 26% on 2024. That's about four times faster than the media industry overall (5.7%).

48%

of US ad buyers call creators a “must buy”, behind only social media and paid search.

AU$830m

Spent on influencer marketing in Australia over 12 months, up 13.5%, per Meltwater and We Are Social's Digital 2026: Australia report.

77%

of consumers favour creator content over scripted ads, BCG reports, in research that also surveyed 940 marketers.

Why it's happening

  1. People trust people

Strategist Lia Haberman told Fortune: “Starting about 20 years ago, we began trusting individuals more than institutions.”

  2. Follower count matters less

Bloom Nutrition's Craig Heyne told Fortune “it doesn't matter if you have 1,000 followers or 100,000 followers”: platforms push strong content to people who don't follow the creator yet.

  3. They're better storytellers

IAB says creators are “unmatched when it comes to storytelling and cultural relevance”, and brands now treat them as their own channel rather than a social media add-on.

  4. It pays back

In BCG's survey, brands that build creators in properly report 19% lower cost per acquisition and 133% higher return on ad spend. BCG also notes AI search tools draw on creator content when deciding which brands to show.

  5. The platforms are building for it

LinkedIn is testing tools to help brands find creators for campaigns, a sign creator deals are moving beyond TikTok and Instagram.

Our take

Creators are taking over because they solve the two problems ads have now: people skip them, and people don't believe them. A creator's audience chose to be there, and the post looks like the rest of their feed. The catch is measurement: BCG found measuring ROI is the top challenge even for the best brands, so treat creators like any other channel, with a brief, a budget and a number you're trying to move.

Try this: Pick one campaign below and ask: would it work without the creators? If not, the creator is the idea, not the media.

NZ creators to know this week

Two new ones every Monday

New Zealand · TikTok

Louis Davis

@louisdavis_ ↗

About 2 million followers when reported

What they make: Warm, funny clips of whānau life as a Māori dad of three, plus diving and gathering seafood.

Why they're getting noticed: Named New Zealand Creator of the Year at the TikTok Awards. He told RNZ viewers are “fascinated” by food gathering, and he wanted his account to be “a story of goodness.”

Our take: the lesson for marketers

A niche that feels everyday to the creator (diving for kina) can be new and fascinating to everyone else. Brands should look for that gap.

New Zealand · TikTok

Morgan McKeen

@stemwithm ↗

What they make: Hands-on science and STEM videos from an Auckland science educator.

Why they're getting noticed: Picked for TikTok's 2026 Discover List of creators to watch, in the Educators category.

Our take: the lesson for marketers

Education content builds trust fast. A brand that helps people learn something gets remembered differently from one that just sells.

Rewrite The #SignsOfAgeing

Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore

Olay launched 'Rewrite The #SignsOfAgeing' in Australia, created by Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore with PG One Publicis Singapore, Prodigious Singapore and Beautiful Pictures Australia. The campaign argues that online searches and AI-generated answers about 'signs of ageing' focus narrowly on wrinkles and sagging skin, and invites Australian women to share via the @olayau social handle how they would rewrite those signs to reflect confidence, resilience and experience instead. It is built around a brand-commissioned YouGov Australia survey of 1,009 Australian women aged 30 to 60, run between 29 September and 7 October 2026.

No performance data published yet.

  • The brand-commissioned YouGov Australia survey found 66% of respondents would decline the chance to be 20 years younger and 90% said ageing had changed them for the better, most often citing wisdom (55%), peace with themselves (49%) and better boundary-setting (46%); yet 72% still linked ageing with fine lines and wrinkles versus only 29% who linked it with confidence (this is research commissioned and released by Olay to support its own campaign, not independently initiated research) [B&T]

Channels: Social

Our take

The survey's central contrast, that people associate ageing far more with wrinkles than with the confidence they say it actually brings, is a smart bit of framing for the campaign's argument. But it's research Olay paid for and released itself, not independent data. The campaign has only just launched, so there's nothing yet on whether it changed how people search for or talk about ageing.
